Feeling eight-y-een

Culture Club's 1984 Miss Me Blind video. Boy George's inspiration.....cross dressing, Geisha, japanese writing and history, secrets, fire rituals, graffiti, masquerade....What does it all mean? Who knows but it's fun along the way.

Audrey: Need I Say More

Chic, fabulous, youthful, silly!

Jean Michel Basquiat

With so much looking back happening in fashion atm, 2014, fresh year, its no suprise that Andy Warhol's factory friends are being noted. I'd like to take a moment for Basquiat, thought of as troubled graffiti artist. It's his personality, his style and his apparent disregard for what people think that REALLY makes him someone worth considering. He's a lost soul wondering around new york looking for a direction....aren't we all like this a bit.

Blumen-Master

Barbara Palvin by Erwin Blumenfeld. Erwin, in my humble opinion is the genius behind hundreds of fashion designs, campaigns, advertisements...This collage photograph done in 1950 by Blumenfeld  has inspired countless campaigns not ignoring Chanel's video rendition. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QT8AiihKFR0 Just wanted to take today to remind people of the never ending beauty this Blumen-marvelous man has brought to us.

Patrick Grant: Someone to Aspire to

"I'm not a fan of denim. I spent the best part of a year looking for the perfect shoes for jeans. Eventually I realised it wasn't the shoes that were a problem, it was the damn jeans. I don't like them."
Patrick Grant

Quoted in The Observer as one of his style secrets. Jeans are a problem! I've thought this for years...they're not that flattering and they just aren't that comfortable.

Patrick Grant is one designer I keep looking back on recently. He has grafted his business wisely from the beginning. Starting out by selling his house, and car and "everything else", to by Norton & Sons, the tailor. He then on to built E.Tautz the ready to wear line. Which still remains to be one of the few London Fashion Design houses that provides tailored elegance with a twist.

S/S 2012 London: William S, Amazing baggage

These bags, seen amist the wonder of menswear day at London Fashion Week were definately a highlight. The craftsmanship is second-to-none which is part of the appeal. Ignoring this though there is still an array of factors that makes these pieces of luggage so appealing. The cut and shape of the bags are so obscure that you can hardly miss them. Take the above box bag that slides so comfortably into the briefcase. Also from this the compartments inside the bags and the colour ways are simply divine. We love and look forward to more of William S. Look out...

S/S 2012 London: Mark Fast

This seasons see's Mark fast include some pieces that aren't knitwear! Who'd a'thunk it! We love the intense orange that are fiery on the body with twisting turning print on them. Still....it's the knitwear he knows the best. Among Fast's body clinching classics, there are an array of full length dresses to choose from this season and Trend.Stop is unsure of their favourite! The tassled 1920's looks are particularly interesting, some with cut out panels on the body. He also adds some knitted underwear into the mix which are layed over by very light knit dresses. There's also some looks for the older lady with some knitted shrugs and we can't forget the tasselled necklaces. They make a superb addition to the tasselling on the dresses. Loved it!

S/S 2012 London: Christopher Kane (steals the season)

We have to start by saying, here at Trend.Stop we are never sure quite what to expect going into a Christopher Kane show. But after a couple of seasons that were quite a sight on the eyes. This one has come out top form on the London runways. Not only are the pieces exquisite to look at and desirable but the innovative craftsmanship, use of fabric and embellishment has not gone unnoticed. Christopher Kane this season is the reason definition why London fashion exists. It may move slowly in terms of form or silhouette but it definately makes a statement. Kane's collection manages to very successfully range from bright metallics, subtle tones, nudes, embellishment and florals without looking brashly put together. Every element is considered down to the exact folding of the fabric, we adore the folds he's created in shirts and dresses to enhance the female form. Definately a show worth seeing.

S/S 2012 London: Peter Pilotto

Peter Pilotto's another designer this season whose taking us to depths of the earths= from the oceans, to the sky and making us feel all animalistic. This collection was awash with form that accentuated and transforms the female from. The fabric folds and twists making the dresses into beautiful sculptures. Thumbs up from Trend.Stop.
