S/S 2012 London: John Rochas

Right...so this is no excuse but because Trend.Stop was late to the BFC we had to watch the show from the 'Cinema' screening room not at the live catwalk. But hey....do we mind...honestly no! This was the first of London Fashion week where we (I) felt something inside...a sense of well being and i'm not honestly sure whether it was the clothes, the music or for some reason the show made us feel we were a part of something.

It may have been the fact that watching from the screening room your in an enclosed small space, tightly next to others with the music loud so if you don't feel something your a fool. But we're going to say....it was all the work of Rocha.

There was more of the plaits (that we've seen a lot this season at LFW), sculpted on the models long locks with lace weaved in and out leaving. This still represented an almost hippyish vibe and sense of freedom that we've so been going on about at Trend.Stop.

The dresses, had some of the beautifully sculptures that we've come to associate with John. The was definately a huge ammount of workman and attention to detail that always makes his pieces truly desirable. There was also some looser, simple floor skimming dresses that would make incredible day pieces. The real shock from Rocha was the purely black, nude and white pallet especially when he does colour so well! What are you trying to say John...are people feeling tame come springtime? He must be sensing something....As for Trend.Stop this collection is the winner of the season (thus far-sorry it's not over yet).
